Meet your maker

Being gifted a name like Zebadee I doubt I was ever destined for your usual 9-5. Since a very young age my passion has been craft, making and creating anything I can. Fortunately my family picked up on this and encouraged me to knit, cross stitch and I had sewing machine lessons with a local seamstress before I was 10. Eventually I went on to study fashion concept and construction at university focusing on corsetry and suit making but went on to pursue several other careers both related and unrelated.

Parenthood forced my hand in the direction of carrier making. Despite spending a lot of time researching what buggy I wanted and assuming it would make life easier when my son came along, it did not. Living in a busy town with busy shops, busy busses and only stepped access to my house the thing just got in the way. Having limited funds and no idea where to even research wearing I resorted to eBay, snapped up some kind of padded ring sling with a buckle, it wasn’t that comfortable for long but made my life easier for almost a year. Then a new cafe started a baby music group near me where I met other mums with carriers, it was amazing and they were all so lovely. They allowed me to try and even borrow their multitude of slings. Alas I couldn’t afford them so I sold my buggy and invested in some fabrics, started off making my own meh dai’s for my son. After a lot more research I made myself a buckled carrier focusing on the design aspects I found comfortable. Finally I had it, a carrier that was so comfy and perfect for ME with just one problem. Everyone else wanted it.
